The small, yet innovative Southampton engineering company, REAP Systems Limited, are experts in advanced propulsion systems. The company will showcase the latest project of two Hybrid Electric Venice Taxi Boats. Keynote Speaker, John Haynes of Shock Mitigation, will discuss the project during his presentation in Hall 1 during the event, with visitors able to view the boat afterward with John and the projects Technical Director.
REAP are the very first company to design and install a green, clean hybrid engine and battery into a Venice Taxi Boat. It is being developed on the River Itchen and tested in Southampton in Hampshire, before making its debut in Venice in the summer of 2018.
This is, indeed, a very special boat – a very real original Venice water taxi bought by the company from Venice, Italy. A smaller version will also be available on the day.
The VW XL1 - Limited Edition

We are excited to announce that the limited run VW XL1 vehicle will be on show at the 2017 Expo.
The VW XL1 has a limited run of approximately 250 diesel electric 2 seater cards. It has a 313 MPG return and needs just 8bhp to maintain a steady 62 mph. The car weighs just 795kg and its drag factor is half of equivalent cars!
