Smart Procurement - For every £1 saved in your spending, you realise £10 in benefit. Really!
Delivered by Glenn St John-Colgan of the Augmentas Group

10.30am to 12.00pm - Richard’s Suite
Workshop: For every £1 saved in your spending, you realise £10 in benefit. Yes - Really!

Glenn is a commercial and procurement expert with nearly 30 years of experience across both public and private sectors, and countless industries. Commencing his career as an estimator in the construction industry, he made his way into buying and stock control at an early age, being tasked with buying nuts & bolts, of all things. Maybe being a Yorkshireman meant his natural bent for driving efficiencies and savings led him to rise quickly up the ranks to head up Amey’s procurement function for global major infrastructure and outsourcing services schemes. Success with Amey led Glenn to leading cutting edge commercial activity across the public sector, taking his private sector commercial ambition to help UK plc get a better bang for their buck. Through roles as Strategic Procurement Director for the Department of Health, followed by directorships and advisory roles across Home Office, Justice, Statistics, DEFRA, FCO and House of Parliament, Glenn has gained a wealth of knowledge in how to efficiently deliver bottom-line savings across all types of organisations. As Managing Director of Augmentas Group, “where buying meets selling”, this is now proliferated, providing insights to public and private sector customers alike in how to affect the commercial lifecycle, gain the most from your supply chain, and contribute significantly to your company bottom line.

When a business spends money, it is the residue of cost after sales, tax, staff, operations and all other incidental costs. It is literally your bottom line, and your money. The less you spend, without increasing turnover or gross profit margins, significantly improves your net profit level, your gearing and your bank balance. Reduced overheads also increase your competitive edge, which in turn improves your overall ability to secure more work and your place in the market. Why wouldn’t any business want to do this? We hope in a short period of time to challenge how you and your organisation buys. We will provide helpful hints and tips on maximising your spend, mastering your data, and generating savings without affecting your customers, your sales or your quality.
